Noonday is our weekly meal that we serve free-of-charge to our campus. We hold it on Wednesdays at 12 pm (hence “noonday”) in the student activities room at the Vera Low Center for Student Enrichment. Each week, a different church of the local Baptist associations provides a hot home-cooked meal, ranging from soup to spaghetti to fried chicken and mashed potatoes. Any student or faculty is welcome to join us.
Every week is different, but typically, along with the meal, we have a time for fellowship, announcements, and prayer, followed by a short devotion provided by a student. Anyone is welcomed to speak, and while we typically try to follow the theme set for that semester by the Noonday Coordinator, any topic is welcomed.
Noonday is the biggest weekly event that we have at the BCM. We equate it to a Sunday morning church service, since it is a place that both those heavily involved with the BCM and those hardly involved at all come to fellowship. It is one of our biggest venues of campus outreach, and we use that to our advantage to try to reach our campus for Christ.
